We're looking for a Senior Estimator to join our Construction team based in Castle Donington.
Location
East Midlands Office, Castle Donington
Hours
Full time - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.
About the Role
As a Senior Estimator, you'll play a vital role in supporting the generation of profitable tenders for our Construction business. Working closely with the Head of Estimating and the wider team, you'll help estimate project costs, identify opportunities to minimise risk and maximise profit, and contribute to winning contracts that deliver real value for our clients. This is an excellent opportunity to lead and mentor an estimating team while building strong relationships across our supply chain and customer base.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Senior Estimator, you'll be working within the Construction Team, supporting them in delivering successful tenders and building a strong pipeline of profitable projects. Your day to day will include:
- Leading and motivating the estimating team, promoting best practice and supporting their development
- Estimating costs and resources for projects, negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors to minimise costs
- Contributing to the assessment, preparation and submission of tenders, working with design, planning and commercial teams
- Building and maintaining strong commercial relationships with customers, consultants and suppliers throughout the tender process
- Participating in project handovers to the fulfilment team and providing accurate reports and forecasts

What are we looking for?
This role of Senior Estimator is great for you if:
- You have experience working for a Main Contractor or Tier 1 Contractor company
- You're proficient in Excel, Estimating System Software, and Blue Beam or equivalent take off software
- You can demonstrate leadership experience within a pre-construction team
- You have examples of developing and mentoring junior team members
- You have a conscientious working approach with excellent attention to detail and knowledge of benchmarking and cost planning
