Senior Estimator

Senior Estimator – Midlands Region

About the Role

VINCI Building is seeking an outstanding Senior Estimator to join our thriving Midlands Region at an exciting period of sustained growth and opportunity.

This role enables you to play a crucial part in securing and delivering some of the region’s most prestigious schemes, including a transformative £1 billion hospital project that will redefine healthcare infrastructure and create lasting social impact.

You will lead and take ownership to deliver build costs for our clients across a range of projects, ensuring proposals are:

  • Cost-effective
  • On time
  • To the highest quality for commercial accuracy

As a trusted pre-construction leader, you will contribute to regional success, working adaptively based on project demands. Reporting from our Solihull office, this role also involves homeworking and attending client meetings, site visits, and project meetings across the Midlands.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Operational

  • Produce analytical cost estimates in alignment with the programme, methodology, and risk profile developed by the bid team, particularly on large-scale and complex projects.
  • Identify the need for specialist support to deliver accurate estimates.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the UK construction market, including main forms of contract and associated risks.
  • Provide guidance and mentor estimating assistants.

Technical & Financial

  • Prepare and revise estimating and tendering documentation for reporting and decision-making.
  • Manage, analyse, and present estimating/tendering information to senior leadership and clients.
  • Foster innovative team culture and share knowledge to enhance estimating processes.
  • Identify, analyse, and reduce unnecessary costs and inefficiencies.
  • Select, engage, and manage the supply chain, based on deep industry insights.
  • Lead the production of tender review and adjudication papers.
  • Generate and present accurate cash flow and financial forecasts to align with project timelines.
  • Monitor commercial, technical, legal, and insurance developments relevant to the construction market.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
