Estimator / Senior Estimator
Base: Flexible working from Stoke-on-Trent Head Office, Warrington, Burton or Birmingham.
Hybrid working: typically 3 days in the office and 2 days at home, we would be open to remote working.
Working hours are usually 08:30 – 17:00, Monday to Friday.
About the Role
As an Estimator or Senior Estimator with Novus, you’ll play a key role in supporting our continued growth. Working closely with our Bid and Operational teams, you’ll produce accurate, competitive pricing for tenders with both new and existing clients, primarily within a social housing refurbishment environment.
Our estimating team works collaboratively across a range of regions, clients and programmes of work, giving you variety and the opportunity to get involved in diverse projects. With ambitious growth plans over the next three years, your focus will be on helping us improve the success of the tenders we submit, bringing commercial awareness, attention to detail and a competitive edge to everything you do.

What you’ll be doing:
- Preparing and processing quotations, bids and tenders
- Preparing supplier and subcontractor enquiries, reviewing quotations and supporting the selection process
- Producing quantities for building works to support accurate project pricing
- Assessing material, labour and plant requirements when compiling tenders
- Producing tender breakdowns and substantiation, including value engineering to meet client budget requirements
- Liaising with operational teams, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and clients to establish project specifications, preliminary requirements, risks and exclusions
- Attending and contributing to meetings with colleagues, clients and customers when required
- Assessing commercial and operational risks associated with tender submissions
- Measuring jobs from inception using SMM7, NRM or similar methods
About You
You’ll bring experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator, ideally within a social housing refurbishment, property services, maintenance or construction environment. You’ll be confident pricing works from first principles and have experience of cost planning, with the attention to detail needed to produce accurate, commercially sound tenders.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are important, as you’ll work closely with internal teams, clients, suppliers and subcontractors. You’ll be comfortable pricing larger-scale projects, while also managing multiple smaller tenders at the same time. Experience using Causeway or similar estimating software would be advantageous.
