About the Role
Our client, a Global multi-billion aum investment management firm, is seeking a Senior Equity Analyst (7 - 15 years exp) to idea generate into an existing European L/S equity fund with a $1bn+ aum. This person will be given the opportunity to cover a variety of sectors but with a slanted focus on Healthcare sector.
Job Description
The European Equity desk is looking to bolster their research capability and hire a senior equity research analyst in London. The desk is looking for hard working and curious minded professionals, passionate about fundamental research of stocks and industries. Ideal candidates must also be able to communicate effectively and express complex ideas clearly and succinctly.
You will report directly to the Senior Portfolio Manager heading European equities.
You will be working in a fast-paced, performance-oriented environment with a high-achieving team who is driven by professional goals but also shares common human values of team spirit and inclusiveness.
Responsibilities
Your primary task will be to:
- Conduct company investment research to validate investment thesis – including financial analysis, due diligence on industry trends, company management and strategies and ESG impact and risks

- Attend industry conferences, conduct meetings with management teams, industry leaders to build stronger understanding of underlying industry, competitive dynamics, business drivers, and strategic direction.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of verticals/industry happenings and current events
- Develop insightful financial modelling and valuation: quickly input data into models to arrive to insightful charts, dashboards and conclusions
- Produce high quality investment research memos and document research findings
- Articulate clearly and succinctly investment conclusions in both formal presentations and more informal discussions with PM
- Regularly turn insight on specific verticals and company trends into short original content aimed for clients and wider audience on digital media
- Create and maintain layout templates for frequently used research notes, models, charts, and exhibits
Qualifications
7-15 years’ experience on either the sell- or buy-side as an Equity Research Analyst or as an Investment Banking M&A AD/VP level with Healthcare sector expertise.
CFA or equivalent is valued

Technical Skills
- MS Office, high familiarity with Bloomberg
- Strong equity research skills with strength in financial analysis/modelling gained from experience working in a similar role
- Deep curiosity to analyse and understand business models, industry dynamics, and competitive analysis in details
- Understanding of financial markets, investment theories and asset valuations
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to synthesize and communicate large amounts of information in succinct manner
- Ability to code in VBA Excel or Python a plus
