Contract type: Freelance (up to 3 days per week)

Salesforce Ben is the go-to media hub for Salesforce professionals worldwide, and we’re seeking an energetic and ambitious Senior Events Manager to join the team as we continue to scale.

Over the past 11 years, Salesforce Ben has grown into a media powerhouse in the Salesforce ecosystem, engaging millions of Salesforce professionals every month with fresh content, industry insights, and events. With a vibrant culture driven by passion, creativity, innovation, and growth, we’re revolutionising the way technology professionals interact with content.

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented freelance Senior Events Manager to oversee the end-to-end planning and execution of Salesforce Ben’s September events. This role will be responsible for delivering up to seven events within a one-week period, ensuring seamless coordination and execution across all event activities. The successful candidate will take over the planning from a previous Events Manager, inheriting events that are already in progress rather than starting from scratch, and will be responsible for driving them through to successful delivery.

Salesforce Ben is a bootstrapped company with over 30 employees located around Europe, and an office based in Shoreditch, London. As we have no investors, we focus on sustainable, long-lasting growth and company fundamentals, ensuring the well-being and professional growth of our employees.

Responsibilities

  • Event Planning: Lead the planning, management, and delivery of SFB’s September events programme, ensuring all events are delivered to a high standard, on time, and within budget.
  • Event Management: Manage events end-to-end, including project planning, venue management, supplier coordination, logistics, production, delegate experience, and post-event evaluation.
  • Sponsor Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors and key stakeholders to ensure successful event delivery and sponsor satisfaction.
  • Budgeting: Develop, manage, and monitor event budgets, ensuring accurate forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting.
  • Event Processes: Identify opportunities to improve event operations and attendee experience through the review, implementation, and optimisation of event processes and systems.
  • Event Content: Lead the planning and development of event content in partnership with the Editorial team, ensuring agendas, speakers, and session formats deliver valuable, relevant, and engaging experiences for the audience.
  • Supplier Contracts: Negotiate and manage contracts with venues, suppliers, and external partners to secure value for money and quality service delivery.
  • Collaborating with Teams: Work collaboratively with internal teams including marketing, sales, content, and senior leadership to ensure alignment across the events programme.
  • KPIs: Monitor event performance against objectives and KPIs, producing post-event reports, insights, and recommendations for future improvements.
  • On-Site Event Management: Act as the lead point of contact during live events, managing on-site delivery and resolving operational issues as they arise.
  • Forecasting & Reporting: Manage event forecasting and post-event reporting, tracking performance against budgets, KPIs, and objectives, and delivering insights and recommendations to inform future event planning and strategy.

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities

Required

The ideal candidate must have:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • 8+ years experience managing B2B events.
  • Good relationship-building skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with our internal team, customers, and suppliers.
  • Strong organisation skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • The capacity to travel to the US for these events.

Desirable

  • Experience using event-specific tools, such as SwapCard.
