Senior Events Manager – Adviser Platform Marketing Team

- Adviser: Provides financial planning solutions and technology for UK financial advisors, enabling them to create value for their customers.
- Investments: A specialist asset manager focusing on areas of strength and scale to capitalise on market trends through public markets and alternative asset classes.
About the Department
The platform marketing team sits within the Adviser business and plays a central role in supporting the growth, engagement, and advocacy of financial advisors using the wrap platform. The team is responsible for developing and delivering marketing activity that establishes Aberdeen’s platform as a trusted, high-quality, and differentiated solution, driving new business acquisition and advisor retention.
Events are a key engagement channel, enabling:
- Expert technical insights
- Practical platform support
- Best-practice guidance
- Thought leadership
- Strengthening relationships and trust in the platform
About the Role
As the Senior Events Manager, you will develop, plan, and deliver an advisor-focused events programme, including webinars and in-person events. You are responsible for:
- Strategizing and aligning events with commercial objectives, with a focus on advisor relevance and measurable outcomes.
- Collaborating with marketing, distribution, technical, and product teams to shape engaging, insight-driven events that deepen advisor relationships and position Aberdeen as a trusted partner.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and own an advisor events strategy aligned with commercial objectives.
- Plan and manage an annual schedule of events, including:
- Technical and regulatory webinars
- Best-practice sessions
- Face-to-face adviser roadshows
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of events, from concept and content development to live execution and post-event follow-up.
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert for events platforms and suppliers, including BrightTALK and Cvent.
- Collaborate with Distribution & Technical to shape advisor-centric content and ensure Compliance & Risk requirements are met.
- Manage external suppliers, venues, and production partners, ensuring high-quality delivery and value for money.
- Own the events budget, including forecasting and spend management.
- Define and track success metrics using data and advisor feedback to improve content and performance.
- Provide clear reporting and insights to stakeholders on engagement, outcomes, and learnings.
About the Candidate
Essential Experience & Skills
- Significant experience in event delivery within financial services, particularly in platforms.
- Proven track record delivering both webinars and in-person events at scale.
- Hands-on experience with event technology, particularly proficiency in BrightTalk and Cvent.
- Familiarity with Salesforce and Marketing Cloud is desirable.
- Strong project management skills with excellent attention to detail, juggling multiple events and priorities effectively.
- Exercises excellent stakeholder management skills, including influencing senior leaders while remaining assertive.
- A collaborative, proactive, and highly organized approach.
- A strong understanding of the UK financial adviser market and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate events and travel concisely.
