The Role
We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Senior Event Project Manager to lead the delivery of a high-value portfolio of government and public sector events. This is a senior role requiring strategic oversight as well as hands-on execution, ensuring every event is delivered to the highest standard and aligned with client objectives.
You will take ownership of large-scale and complex projects, acting as the central point of leadership across internal teams, clients, and suppliers.
This role is London-based, with flexibility required to attend events across the UK, including occasional overnight stays.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of a portfolio of high-profile events, from concept through to post-event evaluation
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are consistently met
- Oversee all aspects of event planning, including logistics, content development, and on-site delivery
- Coordinate speaker management and programme delivery, ensuring engaging and high-quality content
- Collaborate with design and production teams to deliver cohesive marketing campaigns across digital and print
- Manage delegate registration journeys, including session selection and accessibility requirements
- Oversee event websites, ensuring content is accurate, engaging, and up to date
- Build and manage relationships with venues, AV providers, and other key suppliers
- Develop strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring exceptional service delivery
- Chair client meetings, providing clear direction and proactively managing risks and challenges
- Produce high-quality briefing materials, reports, and post-event analysis
- Monitor KPIs and performance metrics, driving continuous improvement across events
- Take ownership of event budgets, ensuring financial control and value for money
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and support to junior team members
- Attend events as required, including occasional evenings and weekends

About You
- Proven track record of delivering complex, high-value events from concept to completion
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple workstreams
- Experience managing budgets and working with external suppliers and partners
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with confidence working at senior levels
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused
- Experience analysing event performance data and reporting against KPIs
- Comfortable mentoring and supporting junior colleagues
- Experience working on government or public sector events is highly desirable
