Senior IT Field Engineer | Global IT Services | Career Progression

Location: Glasgow (Field-Based)--Full UK Driving Licence Required

Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance

Salary: £28,000 + Excellent Benefits

Are you an experienced IT Field Engineer or Senior Desktop Support Engineer looking for your next challenge?

I'm working with a global leader in IT Services that is continuing to invest in its UK engineering teams. They're looking for a customer-focused Senior IT Field Engineer to provide high-quality onsite support across multiple customer locations throughout the Glasgow region.

What you'll be doing:

  • ✔ Delivering onsite deskside support across multiple customer sites
  • ✔ Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software and peripheral issues within agreed SLAs
  • ✔ Installing, configuring and supporting Windows laptops and desktops
  • ✔ Supporting Microsoft Windows 10 & 11 environments
  • ✔ Managing user accounts, permissions and group memberships within Active Directory
  • ✔ Supporting Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams and Office
  • ✔ Imaging, building and deploying end-user devices
  • ✔ Supporting printers, multifunction devices and print management solutions
  • ✔ Configuring and troubleshooting mobile devices, tablets and smartphones (iOS & Android)
  • ✔ Providing support for IP telephony, VoIP handsets and conferencing equipment
  • ✔ Performing hardware break/fix including laptops, desktops, monitors and associated peripherals
  • ✔ Managing device swaps, refreshes, rollouts and technology deployments
  • ✔ Logging, updating and resolving incidents through ITSM ticketing systems
  • ✔ Escalating complex infrastructure issues to specialist resolver groups where required
  • ✔ Delivering an outstanding customer experience while representing a globally recognised IT Services brand

What we're looking for:

Strong experience in an IT Field Engineer, Deskside Support or Desktop Support role. Solid hardware break/fix troubleshooting experience across a wide range of end-user devices

Experience supporting:

  • Windows 10 & 11
  • Microsoft 365
  • Active Directory
  • Laptops & desktops
  • Printers & multifunction devices
  • Mobile phones & tablets
  • IP Telephony / VoIP
  • Network connectivity basics (LAN/Wi-Fi)
  • Device imaging and deployments

Additional requirements:

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Comfortable travelling between customer sites throughout the Glasgow area
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance
