Senior Finance Business Intelligence Analyst

Liverpool - £45-55,000 plus package

Resourcery Group are working in partnership with a brilliant International Business based in Liverpool as they look to hire a Senior Finance Business Intelligence Analyst. Our client has a brilliant reputation and is a market leader in their sector. This Liverpool based role (hybrid working available) is a fantastic opportunity for a Finance Analyst who can help to transform the way the business uses data to drive performance.

As a Senior Finance Business Intelligence Analyst, you'll lead the design and delivery of end-to-end Power BI reporting solutions, replacing manual, Excel-based reporting with scalable, automated dashboards that provide real-time insight across the business.

You will build robust data models using Power BI, DAX, Power Query and SQL, enhance existing SSRS reporting, and collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into impactful analytical solutions. You'll help shape the future of our Finance BI function while championing self-service analytics and data-driven decision making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Power BI Development & Data Modelling

    • Design and maintain robust Power BI models, dashboards, and datasets.
    • Build advanced DAX measures to deliver margin analysis, KPIs, trends, and variance reporting.
    • Ensure scalable, high-performance reporting with strong governance, documentation, and row-level security.
  • Management Reporting & Analysis

    • Enhance finance processes through automation and reduced reliance on spreadsheets.
    • Support budgeting and forecasting with scalable models and insightful outputs.
  • Multi-System Reporting

    • Collaborate with BI teams to integrate financial and operational data for end-to-end insights.
    • Define and standardise financial metrics across all reporting.
  • Stakeholder Engagement

    • Partner with finance and operational leaders to translate business needs into BI solutions.
    • Provide guidance to non-finance users on interpreting dashboards and financial outputs.

Key Requirements

  • Strong experience building end-to-end Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Advanced knowledge of Power BI, DAX, Power Query, Excel and SSRS.
  • Microsoft Fabric awareness - understands key components and how Power BI integrates with them.
  • Solid SQL skills for data extraction, transformation and analysis.
  • Proven ability to turn business requirements into reporting solutions.
  • Experience improving or replacing manual / Excel-based processes.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Good attention to detail and focus on data accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to document work clearly.
  • Ability to manage time, priorities and work independently
  • Discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality in handling data
  • Strong communication skills - able to explain complex concepts clearly to non-experts.
