Financial Management and Strategy Leader

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the financial management and strategy for a business supplying into the major UK supermarkets. You will oversee the Commercial Finance team (2 direct reports), partner with key stakeholders such as the Commercial and Procurement Directors, and play a vital role in driving revenue growth, profitability, and financial performance.

Your responsibilities will include insightful reporting and analysis, financial budgeting, forecasting, and month-end processes. Collaboration with Operations Finance and Group Finance teams is central to this role to ensure cohesive end-to-end decision-making across all company departments. You’ll also play a crucial part in maintaining key customer relationships and supporting long-term tender negotiations.

Core Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with Commercial and Procurement Directors and Heads of Departments to deliver actionable insights.
  • Build strong partnerships across key business areas and influence tactical and strategic decisions to drive cost reductions and efficiency.
  • Develop and improve commercial finance analysis, weekly reporting, KPI dashboards, and forecasting to optimise decision-making.
  • Support budgeting processes, bimonthly reforecasting, and month-end reporting.
  • Provide financial oversight and support for business tenders and working partnerships with key clients.
  • Drive ongoing improvements in ERP systems and financial processes across the business.
  • Work with Operations Finance and Procurement teams to maintain accurate financial standards.

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ ACA OR ACCA)
  • Proven experience in business partnering within a dynamic environment (stock/ Inventory or manufacturing industry experience preferred but not essential).
  • Strong data analysis and communication skills, with the ability to interpret financial information for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Confidence in liaising with senior stakeholders and operational teams, with the ability to influence key decisions.
  • High attention to detail, with a demonstrated track record of delivering timely, accurate financial insights.
  • Experience in implementing financial process controls and optimising processes.

Salary

£80,000 to £85,000 basic + £6000 Cash Car allowance + up to 20% annual bonus plus full benefits package to include Hybrid working (4 days a week office based)
