Senior Finance Manager

Senior Finance Manager – 501 Entertainment

About 501 Entertainment

501 Entertainment Limited, founded in 2018, is the global leader in social entertainment systems, specialising in turning traditional activities—such as darts, golf, and more—into digitally enhanced, engaging experiences. As a pioneering tech company, we merge innovation with entertainment to bring people together in exciting new ways.

About the Role

The Senior Finance Manager is the operational lead of the finance function at 501 Entertainment, a fast-growing, investor-backed entertainment technology business. Reporting to the CFO, this role oversees day-to-day finance operations—including the period-end close, management reporting, payroll, tax compliance, and audit liaison—while managing two Finance Managers as the primary technical escalation point below CFO level.

Operating in a lean, high-growth environment with increasing complexity—such as new billing models, manufacturing, overseas tax obligations, and investor reporting—this role demands a proactive owner of end-to-end processes, clear stakeholder communication, and the drive to continuously improve finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

Management Accounts & Period-End Close

  • Own the full period-end close on a 4-weekly reporting cycle.
  • Prepare management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, and KPIs) with independent variance commentary.
  • Review journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations to meet deadlines.
  • Present management accounts to the CFO.
  • Maintain audit-ready records year-round.

Budget & Forecasting

  • Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with the CFO.
  • Provide commercial analysis and scenario modelling to inform business strategy.

Tax & Statutory Compliance

  • Ensure timely and accurate VAT return submissions with full HMRC compliance.
  • Coordinate with external advisors on corporation tax, R&D tax credits, and tax credit processes.
  • Monitor overseas tax obligations as the business expands internationally.
  • Oversee all statutory filings to avoid delays or penalties.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
