Role: Senior Finance Manager
Region: UK & Nordics
About the Role
The Senior Finance Manager supports the Director, Finance – North Europe in delivering strong financial governance, performance management and operational finance leadership across the Regional Corporate entities in the UK & Nordics.
Acting as a key deputy to the Director, this role includes hands-on leadership over finance teams, ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements, and effective business partnering with multiple business units.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day finance and accounting operations for Regional Corporate legal entities in the UK & Nordics.
- Supervise monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including AR, AP, and GL activities.
- Maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and systems to ensure adherence to GAAP (US and UK) for proper, complete, and accurate record-keeping.
- Support the delivery and review of timely monthly financial reporting, including:
- Consolidated financial statements
- Payments and recharges to AMETEK affiliates
- Cash-flow management
- Revenue recognition reporting for stakeholders
- Assist in statutory financial statements and audit activities, including preparation/review of schedules and responses to queries.
- Ensure SOX compliance across entities.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and development to finance team members to foster efficient, knowledgeable, and timely work execution.
- Build strategic partnerships with Sales, Service and Operations teams to align finance with business growth objectives.
- Identify and drive process improvements, automation, and efficiencies and support implementation.
- Contribute to ERP system development and optimisation, including handling future ERP implementations.
- Assist in financial integration activities for acquisitions within UK and Nordics entities.
- Manage special projects as assigned.

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Deep knowledge of GAAP (US and UK Accounting Principles)
- Proven experience as a Finance Manager
- Advanced IT skills, including demonstrated use of AI in finance
- Proven people leadership skills with supervisory experience
- Strong accounting skills and ability to prioritise effectively
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Analytical problem-solving and critical thinking
- High attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate as a team player
- Commitment to confidentiality and data security
- Experience managing conflicting priorities
- Knowledge of contract, company law, SOX principles, and financial reporting

Education & Experience Requirements
- Chartered Accountancy qualification required (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance (Master’s Degree preferred).
- Minimum 5 years’ accounting experience.
Compensation
Currency: GBP Salary Range: £70,000 – £90,000 (depending on experience/location) Incentive Structure: None noted
