Heirloom Investment Management is an SEC regulated investment advisor specializing in niche alternative investments that are designed to be uncorrelated to traditional markets and asset classes. The firm focuses on generating strong, stable returns while incorporating strategies aimed at de-risking portfolios. Heirloom’s approach appeals to clients seeking diversification beyond conventional equity and fixed-income products. The organization emphasizes thoughtful, research-driven investment selection rather than short-term speculation.
Role Description
This is a full-time Senior Finance Manager role. The role can be either in-office or remote (requiring periodic travel at your expense to) either our London, UK, Dubai, UAE or Toronto, Canada offices. An affinity for technology and tools to improve efficiency / productivity is required.
Supported by a bookkeeper / junior accountant and the investment team (for investment accounting), the Senior Finance Manager will lead accounting, reporting, financial planning and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, tax filing (via advisors) and audits for our holding company, 2 operating companies and 5 investment entities.
Key Responsibilities
Monthly Reporting
- Own the monthly close and prepare accurate management accounts across all group entities.
- Produce board / executive committee packs including KPIs, financial commentary, business unit profitability, budgets and variance analysis.
- Prepare budgets, rolling forecasts, scenario modelling and long-term financial planning.

Bookkeeping and Accounting
- Manage and develop the Bookkeeper, reviewing reconciliations, journals, payroll inputs and ledgers.
- Prepare and file regulatory and tax filings, coordinating with external advisers on annual income tax filings and audits.
- Prepare and issue invoices.
- Maintain robust balance sheet reconciliations, fixed asset, accrual, prepayment and intercompany schedules.
Payments and Treasury Management
- Own treasury, liquidity management, payment entering and approvals and rolling cash flow forecasts.
Systems and Controls
- Implement finance automation, AI-enabled workflows, dashboards and improved management information.
Strategic
- Work collaboratively with legal, operations and investment teams to improve commercial decision-making.
- Build a scalable finance function capable of supporting significant growth in financing deployment.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualified.
- 5-10+ years' experience in financial control, management accounting or finance leadership, including 3-5+ years in an investment or investment management company.
- Experience managing multiple legal entities across multiple jurisdictions.
- Excellent management accounting, forecasting, budgeting and treasury skills.
- Strong Excel and financial modelling capability.
- Experience with Xero or comparable cloud accounting systems.

Highly Desirable
- Experience with investment accounting, especially private credit, structured finance, or specialty lending investment portfolios.
- Track record of improving finance systems, controls and automation, particularly through the intelligent adoption of technology.
- Chartered Financial Analyst or similar qualifications related to alternative investment accounting, reporting or operations.

- Excellent communicator capable of explaining financial information to technical and non-technical audiences.
