Job title: Senior Finance Manager (9-month FTC)

Office location with Hybrid working: Hammersmith

About the role and the Team:

The Senior Finance Manager will be responsible for ensuring Hyperoptic has a best-in-class approach to financial reporting, with monthly performance reporting for the trading company, consolidated reporting for the Group and Lenders, supported by processes and accounting policies that are effectively managed and clearly documented.
The Senior Finance Manager will ensure that Hyperoptic is fully compliant in its external reporting to shareholders, banks and government agencies as well as ensuring there is robust processes in place to manage liquidity and to protect the financial resources of the company.

What will you be doing?

Supporting the Central Finance team:

  • Be a support to the Head of Financial Control and the Senior Financial Control and Accounting Manager to help cover accounting policies, transactional accounting, tax, VAT returns, approving payment runs and expense payments.

Monthly financial reporting:

  • Assisting with the production of monthly management accounts including P/L, B/S & C/F statements for each entity and at a consolidated level; ensuring all backup schedules and working papers are complete (monthly or periodically as required).
  • Provide support to Commercial Finance and FP&A in the production of departmental performance reports.

Annual financial statements, audit & AUPs:

  • Being a key point of contact with the external auditors and in producing the financial statements for the Hyperoptic group of companies under FRS 102.

Financial compliance:

  • Ensure internal controls are adhered to across the business and helping to maintain a compliance timetable monthly; support the formal documentation of accounting policies and memos.

Balance Sheet:

  • Helping to ensure all assets and liabilities are properly accounted for and reported; provide overviews and commentaries for fixed assets, working capital and long-term liabilities.
  • Production of and review of Balance Sheet Reconciliations.

Board packs:

  • Provide monthly support in the preparation of board materials.

What we are looking for?:

  • Fully qualified ACA/ACCA (or equivalent) preferably with audit background and strong Excel and systems skills
  • Extensive experience of working in a financial reporting function and demonstrable post qualification senior expertise
  • Working knowledge of managing audit, financial reporting and compliance; cashflow; internal governance and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience of taking a leading role in setting a company’s accounting policies; an emphasis on building large, complex assets would be desirable.
  • Experience of interpreting complex rules and summarising appropriately for practical application
  • Collaborative: Willing to share work and explain the approach taken and constructively give and accept feedback – logical, structured approach to working with others
  • Resilient: capable of working under pressure to tight deadlines
  • SAP knowledge and experience of an ERP upgrade or implementation would be desirable
  • Self-starter: always looking to improve and always embracing change
