Reporting to: Foods Finance Director (UKI, Poland, Italy) and EU Condiments & Mini Meals
This role is an exciting opportunity to join the Foods BU for Europe, and to be part of Global Foods Business Group. Food is all about bringing joy, culture and connection which brings people together to create memorable moments. The Business Group is ~€13bn business, powered by a combination of much-loved global power brands such as Knorr and Hellmann’s as well as local jewels like Marmite and Pot Noodle. Our brands all focus on 5 mega trend areas to drive existing and emerging opportunities and drive category captaincy with our retailers as market leaders in our categories.
This is a critical role as it is responsible for business partnering 2 of the top 25 Global cells, as well as the Mini Meals platform. This role also has line manager responsibilities with a UFLP directly reporting to the role. The role works closely with two other manager roles in the team, one who partners the Condiments UK and EU teams, and the other who partners UK CD. This role reports into the Finance Director.
This is a fast-paced, exciting role, that has both P&L responsibility and long-term strategic focus of our Mini Meals category. It is a great opportunity to work directly with senior stakeholders and the cross-functional business team, giving you valuable ‘hands on’ experience. It is an opportunity to grow your leadership skills, both on the finance agenda and the business agenda. Requiring a strong drive on business performance, internal and external, by working with and motivating others, taking them on the journey to success.
The main purpose of this role is to provide Finance leadership in the following areas:
- Driving and shaping business performance – both short term activity based and long-term strategic decisions.
- Provide leadership and decision-making support - influencing senior stakeholders to deliver results, mitigate risks and unlock opportunities for 4G growth.
- Providing leadership within the Finance community – working with others to share best practice, build talent, and create an environment that attracts talent.

Key Accountabilities:

Performance Management
- Leading the performance management agenda, working closely with both the marketing and customer teams, along with the rest of the cross-functional team to drive business performance and competitiveness
- Drive Growth and Margin improvement through portfolio and channel choices, ensuring clear roadmaps and accountability is in place to deliver the plans.
- Being a key leader in the Fuel for Growth and Pricing agenda through RGM, 5S savings, ZBB and Return on Investment decisions.

Strategy & Business Planning
- Value intervention – develop corrective actions on major performance interventions
- Innovation partnering – ensure strong commercial decisions are made at the key decision gates by with the project teams to prepare the business case. This includes supporting major CAPEX and R&D investment decisions
- Working with the Cross functional team to build plans which can deliver against our targets.
- Finance lead for the Annual Planning process (including IBP)

Talent & Team development
- Actively involved in local market talent development, participating in the Local and Food BU community.
- Member of the UKI Foods extended leadership team, supporting cross functional talent development.
Experience and Qualifications Required
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Self-confident leadership with an ability to make an immediate impact with stakeholders
- Influencing skills to manage others who do not directly report to you – ensuring collaborative working to deliver the business priorities
- Able to thrive in a fast paced, results-oriented environment requiring a high degree of flexibility
- Able to inspire and lead self and others to achieve challenging results
- Experience of working effectively in cross functional teams
- Professional finance qualification (equiv. to CA, CIMA, ACCA)
