Senior Finance Manager

We’re reinventing payments.

In less than four years, Dojo disrupted the market to become the largest and most loved acquirer in the UK. Our payments infrastructure, purpose-built for in-person commerce, is game changing.

Now, over 150,000 customers across four countries choose to transact billions with us every year.

But we’re just getting started.

Our people are the driving force behind our success. They are our greatest investment and our ultimate competitive advantage. We hire exceptional people and give them the autonomy, trust, and ownership to thrive. The results take care of themselves.

Dojo is a fast-growing fintech business on a mission to transform how businesses take payments and manage their finances. Our teams are passionate, ambitious, and driven by the belief that technology should make commerce simpler for everyone. As we scale across the UK and beyond, we are building a Finance function that matches that ambition — rigorous, forward-thinking, and deeply connected to the business.

The role

As Senior Finance Manager, you will be a cornerstone of our Finance team — bringing technical excellence, commercial thinking, and leadership to a talented group of early-career finance professionals.

This is a hands-on management role as much as a technical one. You will own the integrity of our financial reporting and compliance while simultaneously developing the capability and confidence of your team, driving process improvements that make us faster and more accurate, and acting as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders across the business.

We are looking for someone who has moved out of practice into industry, who has seen what good looks like, and who is motivated by the opportunity to build something excellent.

What You Will Do…

Lead, coach, and inspire the team by setting clear expectations, giving regular feedback, and actively supporting their professional study and career growth. Critically review existing financial workflows, leading automated improvements with finance systems and technology teams to reduce manual effort and scale safely. Take ownership of complex technical accounting matters ensuring compliance with relevant standards (IFRS or UK GAAP) and support the implementation of robust, well-documented financial controls. Lead the preparation of statutory financial statements, ensuring all regulatory filings are completely accurate and submitted on time. Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, managing the audit process efficiently and resolving technical queries with clarity and confidence. Partner cross-functionally to provide clear, practical finance guidance on new product launches, while drafting internal policies that support transparency and accountability. Influence upwards by communicating financial insights and process recommendations to senior leadership in a way that drives informed decision-making.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What You Will Bring...

A professional accounting qualification (such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or an internationally recognised equivalent). Experience in an industry finance role (outside of an accountancy practice), ideally within a high-growth, technology, or fintech environment. Direct experience managing and mentoring finance team members with a clear, supportive approach to developing early-career talent. A proven track record of identifying workflow inefficiencies, designing solutions, and managing them through to successful implementation. Advanced technical accounting skills with experience handling complex reporting requirements and a strong literacy with finance and ERP systems. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex accounting concepts into plain language, write and present with confidence, and build strong relationships. A natural, energetic problem-solver mindset that digs into root causes rather than patching symptoms, while balancing a high standard of accuracy with the speed a scaling business requires.
