Senior Finance Operations Manager

Location: London

Salary: £80,000–£90,000

Reporting To: Financial Controller

Closing Date: 17th July 2026

Eligibility: Applicants must have existing right to work in the UK. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role, though Kaluza evaluates this on a per-role basis for future opportunities.

The Role

The Senior Finance Operations Manager is a proactive people leader responsible for managing accounting, financial reporting, and finance operations across Kaluza’s expanding international footprint.

Why this role exists: Kaluza’s FinOps team drives financial control and value creation through process efficiency and cutting-edge frameworks like AI, enabling our teams to thrive without unacceptable surprises.

This is a role of global diversity—protecting, reporting, and aligning financial stability across five key jurisdictions (UK, Portugal, France, Japan, and US). You’ll be the primary point of contact for finance operations, ensuring scalability while driving continuous improvements.

Key Objectives:

  • Deliver precision and clarity in financial oversight, fostering a ‘No Surprises Environment’.
  • Enhance team productivity through data-driven automation and adaptable frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting

  • Leading month-end and year-end close processes, including drafting monthly management accounts; contributing to Board reporting packs.
  • Consolidating Kaluza’s global financial data into insights that drive strategy for the Board, C-suite, and external stakeholders.
  • Reviewing and maintaining balance sheet reconciliations, drafting technical accounting papers aligned with IFRS standards.
  • Managing and ensuring compliance with international tax obligations, including VAT, payroll taxes, and employee-related liabilities; working closely with the Tax Manager.
  • Managing externally audited statutory accounts by preparing workpapers and acting as stakeholder liaison with auditors.
  • Supporting the establishment of group financial systems and processes across international entities.

Finance Operations

  • Ownership of accounts payable/receivable, journals, and accruals review, safeguarding balance sheet integrity.
  • Maintaining financial internal controls environment and generating KPI reporting to measure efficiency.
  • Overseeing global Payroll Operations, controls, and provider partnerships; ensuring streamlined payroll administration.
  • Exploring automation opportunities, assisting with priority projects, and optimizing workflow resources.

People and Leadership

  • Coaching, developing, and mentoring the FinOps and Payroll team, implementing meaningful performance and career development frameworks.
  • Aligning team goals with broader business objectives to tackle complex issues.
  • Collaborating with other leaders and People Operations to champion cultural and cross-functional cohesion.
  • Actively contributing to Kaluza’s culture by organizing team activities or wider cultural initiatives.

About You

These are the qualities that excite us most in a candidate for this role:

✅ Formal qualification: Chartered accountant (ACA, CIMA, or ACCA) with a minimum of five years post-qualification experience.

✅ Multijurisdictional expertise: Experience in IFRS-based accounting across global tax administrations and multinational compliance (VAT, payroll, employee-specific leviess).

✅ Commercial acumen: A pragmatic, problem-solving leader with entrepreneurial spirit who can initiate, justify, and implement strategic change in dynamic environments.

✅ Soft skills: Strong presentation, stakeholder relationship-building, and conflict-resolution capabilities with the C-suite.
