Senior Finance Systems Analyst – Permanent (SAP Ariba Focus)
A large public sector organisation is partnered with Reed Talent Solutions to recruit a Senior Finance Systems Analyst on a permanent basis. This variability and high-visibility role is based in central London, where you’ll work collaboratively in supporting critical finance and procurement systems across the organisation.
About the Role
This role has responsibility for the leadership of SAP Ariba Guided Buying and Ariba Buying, ensuring the platform is effectively managed, controlled, and developed in line with evolving business needs.
As the subject matter expert, you will:
- Lead the organisation’s finance systems administration and continuous improvement within the Finance Systems function.
- Work closely with Finance, Procurement, ICT teams, and external delivery partners to:
- Drive system enhancements, release management, user support, training delivery, and process improvement initiatives.
- Support the Finance Systems Manager with system operations, team development, and cover as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational administration – Lead day-to-day management of SAP Ariba Guided Buying and Ariba Buying.
- System configuration – Oversee maintenance of configuration, templates, and master data.
- Release coordination – Organise SAP Ariba upgrades, including testing, implementation, training, and documentation.
- Performance monitoring – Proactively troubleshoot finance systems issues and address age performance.
- User support – Provide first-line support for queries (servicing support tickets) with timely resolutions.
- Training delivery – Develop and deliver user training and guidance across the organisation.
- Process improvement – Lead user forums and identify cost-saving efficiencies.
- Reporting development – Create and maintain management reports, ensuring consistency with SAP Ariba and SAP S/4HANA.
- Process documentation – Specify, prepare, and update user guides, training materials, and process documentation.
- Stakeholder collaboration – Identify and lead process enhancements with key teams.
- Team standing – Assist the Finance Systems Team Manager with team planning, development, and cross-training.
- Temporary deputising – Deputise for the Finance Systems Manager when necessary.

The Ideal Candidate
You should be an experienced Finance Systems Analyst with a strong SAP background, keen to deliver excellent user support and drive continuous improvement. Required expertise includes:
- Proven experience administering and supporting finance systems within a large organisation.
- SAP procurement processes knowledge, including Procure-to-Pay (P2P).
- SAP Ariba purchasing platform experience, with familiarity with SAP Ariba Guided Buying and SAP S/4HANA.
- Ability to deliver end-user training and system support effectively.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience in system upgrades, testing, and release management.
- Excellent project management, organisation, and prioritisation skills.
- Crystal-clear verbal and written communications.

Desirable Qualifications
- SAP Public Cloud exposure
- Experience in local government, emergency services, or public sector operations
- Finance and procurement governance knowledge
