Senior Financial Accountant
£70,000 - £80,000 + Bonus & Benefits
Watford, Hertfordshire
Are you a Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA) with 3–5 years' post-qualified experience in industry, ready for a step up into a more senior month-end reporting role? Aila is partnered with a highly successful, nationwide organisation to appoint a Senior Financial Accountant on a permanent basis.

The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll manage the delivery of timely and accurate monthly and statutory reporting, owning month and quarter-end tasks, driving external regulatory reporting requirements and delivering finance-led efficiency projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the month-end factoring position, journals to account for differences in accounting treatment, and reconciliations between internal and shareholder reporting
- Deliver IFRS-based financial reporting for several legal entities, preparing and reviewing financial statements supported by well-developed analytical reviews
- Review the financial performance and position of the entities on a regular basis, presenting results to Senior Leaders in Finance and the wider business
- Prepare and review quarterly dividend cycles, including preparation for Board Meetings
- Lead regular compliance activities such as monthly financial review of entity balances, attestation of all balances, running the factoring process and impairment reviews
- Review and forecast all Shareholder-related regulatory costs and reporting requirements
- Assist Group Tax in the preparation of statutory tax returns and supporting information
The Ideal Candidate
- ACA / ACCA qualified with at least 3–5 years' post-qualification experience, ideally gained in industry
- Confident communicator, able to represent the business in dealings with internal and external stakeholders
- A genuine go-getter who contributes to the internal control environment and the efficiency of the group, rather than simply following procedure
- Strong numerical ability, high attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines
- Experience in Financial Services and/or the Energy industry would be beneficial
