Senior Financial Analyst – Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) | Local Authority
Closing date: 19 July 2026
We’re seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to lead our Financial Planning & Analysis function. You’ll provide specialist financial insight, support strategic decision-making, and play a key role in the Council’s medium-term financial planning and budgeting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Financial Planning & Analysis team
- Maintain and develop the Medium-Term Financial Plan and forecasts
- Build and manage complex financial models to support decision-making
- Support budget setting and financial planning processes
- Deliver analysis on cost drivers, value for money, and financial performance
- Provide expert advice on business cases, projects, and complex budget issues
- Support commercial activity, including contract and financial analysis
- Produce financial insights and brief senior stakeholders and decision-makers

About You
Essential Requirements
- CCAB/CIMA qualified with substantial experience
- Strong financial modelling and analytical expertise
- Experience working in complex organisations and delivering large-scale projects
- Proven ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis
