Senior Financial Analyst, Accounting, EMEA Accounting
Senior Financial Analyst (EMEA Accounting) – London
We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to become a key member of the EMEA Accounting team, based in our London office. This role focuses on controllership, reporting, process improvement, and cross-border project governance to support EMEA operations while driving alignment with global accounting standards and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
- Representing the EMEA Accounting team – Act as a strategic liaison between accounting stakeholders and business leadership.
- Financial reporting leadership – Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual closes for EMEA operations, ensuring accurate and timely submission while maintaining robust review mechanisms and escalation paths.
- Consolidation & standardisation – Drive standardisation and continuous improvement in processes and internal controls to enhance financial reporting integrity, aligning with US GAAP, local GAAP, and management reporting requirements.
- Cross-border projects – Implement best practice in accounting and controllership across European regions, focusing on automation, technological integration, and control framework enhancements.
- Global alignment – Ensure EMEA accounting activities are harmonised with Worldwide Amazon Accounting Organisation policies and procedures.
- Stakeholder communication – Translate technical accounting/finance terminology for non-finance teams and management.
- Audit assistance – Support internal and external audit processes, including data verification and process validation.

Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- Proven experience in tax, finance, or related analytical fields, preferably with public accounting or corporate finance exposure.
- Expertise in applying KPIs for performance analysis and decision-making.
- Experience in process automation and data-driven improvements, including identifying inefficiencies in accounting/corporate tools.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL for business intelligence, data mining, and financial reporting.
- Background in accounting or finance management at a top-tier firm (Big Four or Fortune 500 environment).
- CPA, ACCA, or equivalent certifications are mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects while maintaining execution quality.
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP, local taxation, and multijurisdictional consolidation.
- Strong cross-functional communication skills, including presenting findings to senior leadership.
- Experience in process automation or digital transformation initiatives in finance operations.
- Information technology aptitude aligned with practical experience in ERP systems, cloud platforms, or financial databases.
