Senior Financial Analyst, Amazon Freight EU
Commercial Senior Finance Analyst – Amazon Freight Europe | Finance Strategy & Business Partnering
About the Role
Amazon Freight Europe is seeking a senior-level finance analyst to support the strategic growth of our external freight business. In this high-impact role, you’ll serve as a data-driven finance partner to Sales, Operations, and Product teams, owning long-term financial planning, profitability analysis, and customer growth acceleration.
Why This Role Matters
- Shape the future of Amazon’s freight network across the UK and EU, delivering full truckload and palletised freight with our proprietary Amazon-owned assets and trusted carrier partners.
- Provide critical insights to senior leadership—ensuring every decision prioritises long-term value over short-term gains.
- Drive a sustainable, rapidly scaling business, aligned with Amazon’s climate commitments (Net-Zero Carbon by 2040).
The ideal candidate is a commercial thinker with deep analytical curiosity—one who can bridge finance, strategy, and operational execution to make high-stakes decisions with confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Partnership & Influence: Collaborate with senior stakeholders to drive cross-functional, data-backed decisions that enhance business performance.
- Trusted Finance Advisor: Build strong rapport with Operations and Sales teams, providing confident financial guidance on strategic priorities.
- Constructive Challenge & Accountability: Hold executives accountable for long-term value creation, ensuring decisions align with sustainable growth—not just immediate gains.
- Actionable Insights Generation: Perform deep-dive analyses on market segments, pricing, and operational efficiency, constantly asking "why" to uncover root causes and propose solutions.
- Model-Driven Decisions: Develop and maintain advanced financial models for forecasting, cost optimisation, and profitability analysis.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
