Trade Compliance Senior Finance Analyst
The right financial and business decisions have made Amazon what it is today. As a Trade Compliance Senior Finance Analyst, you will drive compliance business decisions in Amazon's global imports business to enable imports topline and improve operating margins. You will closely work with Amazon's imports teams across worldwide. This role is an opportunity to act as the key finance leader for a strategic programme and get really involved with shaping our imports business. You’ll lead others and use insights to show senior stakeholders ways that we can move forward with our business ambitions.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Build financial models to drive business decisions and make judgement calls on challenges using your understanding of Amazon’s imports cost structure
- Lead projects by overseeing timelines, priorities, auditing quality and resolving issues
- Generate insights from financial data, identify opportunities for greater efficiency, and communicate findings with the leadership team to drive business actions
- Own the financial and operational plan and financial reporting, create scalable processes and monitor teams for accuracy.
- Onboard, develop and mentor team members in areas of financial reporting for accuracy, create best practice materials and promote knowledge sharing
A Day in the Life
Our Finance Managers at this level take a hands-on role to boost our business performance and efficiency. You’ll collaborate with partners in different areas of our business to provide insights on improvements in our operational performance. That will involve deep diving into data, managing our planning processes, and giving team members guidance on more ambiguous areas of our cost structures. You’ll also help other teams across worldwide to gain access to vital insights and to collaborate. You’ll manage or mentor people and work closely with partners to help inform and guide their key decisions.

About the Team
Compliance’s role is to work across Amazon to uphold global and local regulations, laws and safety standards. Some of our team work to import restricted products safely. Others spend time classifying products, making sure customers get the right safety warnings and understand any risks that may come with their purchase. We take a long-term view of compliance. We use data, automation and world-class systems to make our customers’ shopping experience even better. Our team is based across the world, in regions including China, India, eastern Europe, the Middle East and South America.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, or Master's degree
- Experience in multiple finance and accounting roles, or experience delivering results for large, cross-functional initiatives/projects
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (i.e. SQL, MS Power Query, Python), or experience in Excel (macros, index, conditional list, arrays, pivots, lookups)
- Experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business, or a related field
- Experience troubleshooting and identifying the root cause of issues
- Experience in a fast paced, dynamic organization
- Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
