The Role

We are seeking a Senior Financial Planner to join our Edinburgh office, tasked with inheriting and developing a client bank. This hybrid role (office + local client meetings) offers existing strategic growth opportunities for a seasoned adviser who thrives on client relationships and high-quality advice.

Responsibilities

Client Management & Advice Delivery

  • Take full ownership of an established client bank, delivering ongoing holistic financial planning advice
  • Provide high-standard advice across:
    • Pensions
    • Investments
    • Protection
    • Tax planning
    • Retirement strategies
  • Strengthen long-term client relationships, identifying new advice opportunities
  • Ensure excellent service standards, communication, and client outcomes throughout the financial journey
  • Manage review cycles, ensuring clients receive proactive and timely engagement
  • Generate revenue through referrals, cross-selling, and strategic upselling
  • Collaborate with Titan’s investment, employee benefits, and other teams for integrated solutions

Business Development

  • Leverage existing client relationships to identify new growth opportunities
  • Support organic expansion via referrals and professional introducers
  • Build and maintain external relationships with:
    • Accountants
    • Solicitors
  • Contribute to local growth plans, aligned with regional and national strategy

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure all FCA-compliant and Titan-aligned advice
  • Maintain Competent Adviser Status (CAS) and ‘Fit & Proper’ requirements
  • Verify that all client files and suitability reports comply with regulations
  • Stay updated on industry developments and technical best practice
  • Operate under TCF principles at all times

** Essential Requirements**

  • Diploma in Financial Planning (or equivalent)
  • Competent Adviser Status (CAS) / current Sustained Part-Time Scheme (SPS) holder
  • Proven track record managing client relationships as a Financial Planner
  • Strong ability to deliver holistic financial planning
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills

Desirable

  • Chartered Financial Planner status (preferred or in progress)
  • Experience in inheriting/developing a client bank
  • Broad technical expertise across:
    • Pensions
    • Investments
    • Wealth
    • Protection
    • Tax & retirement plans
  • Experience in paraplanning support
