Description
Harmony is on a mission to be the best life safety partner to work with and for. Rated an ‘Outstanding Employer’ by Best Companies in 2025, we are only getting bigger and stronger — and we’re looking for A-players to help us get there.
We are passionate about making a difference and obsessed with quality. Our goal is to build a world where every resident can sleep safely at night, knowing their home is 100% safe.
Our Consultancy division is growing rapidly across London, with a strong pipeline of FRAEW workstreams and major social housing projects that require senior fire engineering expertise. We are looking for a Senior Fire Engineer to join the team and take ownership of complex fire engineering assessments, delivering high-quality outputs that directly shape the safety of buildings and the residents within them.
This is a senior, client-facing role where technical excellence and professional credibility go hand in hand. If you are an experienced fire engineer who wants to work on meaningful, high-profile projects with a business that is genuinely committed to doing things properly — this is the role for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver Fire Risk Appraisals of External Walls (FRAEW) in accordance with PAS 9980, producing detailed, accurate, and defensible reports.
- Undertake fire engineering assessments across a range of building types and tenures, applying sound professional judgement and keeping abreast of current guidance and legislation.
- Produce clear, well-structured fire engineering reports and recommendations for clients, ensuring outputs are technically robust and client-ready.
- Act as the senior technical point of contact for clients on live projects, managing relationships professionally and proactively.
- Support the growth of the London consultancy team — contributing to business development, mentoring junior engineers, and helping to build a high-performing team.
- Work collaboratively with the wider consultancy, pre-construction, and delivery teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant standards, legislation, and best practice — including the Building Safety Act, PAS 9980, and associated guidance.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Harmony’s consultancy offering, including processes, templates, and quality standards.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
