Fire Engineer
About the Role
As a Fire Engineer at NDY, you will support the delivery of a range of projects, leveraging your expertise to perform independent work. This critical role ensures the enhancement of our service offerings and achievement of meaningful outcomes for our clients.
Key Challenges
- Understanding and aligning with business and client requirements
- Collaborating with multiple stakeholders in a complex, dynamic environment
- Managing high-level, urgent, and confidential issues effectively
- Balancing varied and conflicting demands while ensuring adherence to standards and deadlines
Key Accountabilities
- Provide expert input for job costing, including timesheets, fee allocations, and forecasts, in consultation with the Manager and Project Leader
- Develop detailed fire strategies and supporting calculations to fulfil design obligations for projects
- Engage in fire engineering design activities, including reviewing designs against fire safety requirements
- Efficiently manage NDY’s project involvement to meet client needs and deliver high-quality outcomes
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to foster long-term partnerships
- Participate in engineering training and mentor junior engineers to develop technical expertise

Qualifications & Requirements
- An undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Fire Engineering
- Membership of a relevant professional fire engineering institution
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively across multiple disciplines
- The ability to learn quickly and apply proven problem-solving techniques
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant regulations, engineering codes, and standards
