Senior Fire Engineer Opportunity
About the Firm & Philosophy
Most firms measure success by output. This one measures it by how much impact you’ve had on the Fire Industry, and if that distinction resonates with you, this could be your opportunity.
Everything this company has built—the processes, training infrastructure and technical reputation—has been funded by reinvesting profits back into the firm rather than extracting them as deliberate policy. Their Manchester office is expanding, and they seek a senior engineer to actively shape its future and not just occupy a position within it.
Investment in You
- Over £20k per person per year dedicated to training
- 20% of working time allocated to professional development
- 3-year structured development roadmap from day one
- In-house CPD programmes (free and IFE-accredited)
- Proprietary training content, including factory visits and live experiments
Their training and mentorship surpass what’s offered within the sector. Engineers here don’t just participate in the fire industry; they help shape it. Chartership is actively reviewed and supported by engineers who serve professionally on committee panels—ideal if you’re working towards IFE registration.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
