Senior Floor Manager – JD Sports Fashion
Established in 1981 with a single store in the Northwest of England, the JD Group is a leading omni-channel retailer of Sports Fashion, Outdoors, and Gyms, operating across multiple markets worldwide. JD Sports Fashion Plc was listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1996 and has been a FTSE100 publicly quoted company since 2019.
We aim to be the leading global omnichannel retailer in the sports and outdoor industry. To help us achieve this, we look for a ** driven Senior Floor Manager** who aligns with our people-led, innovative, and customer-focused ethos—delivering operational excellence while fostering growth.
Role Overview
As a Senior Floor Manager in a JD Sports flagship store, you will:
- Drive operational excellence and commercial results, setting the standard for exceptional customer service
- Lead from the front, motivating your team and maintaining the premium JD experience
- Collaborate with store leadership to achieve sales targets, enhance customer engagement, and sustain a best-in-class retail environment
- Display confident, hands-on leadership with strong commercial awareness and the ability to elevate team performance

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the shop floor to deliver exceptional JD service standards, ensuring a seamless, premium customer experience at all times
- Drive commercial performance through merchandising, stock management, and team motivation
- Own and optimise the store’s KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), ensuring consistent progress and strong results
- Manage day-to-day operations, including:
- Opening and closing routines
- Cash processing and audit compliance
- Stock accuracy and cost control
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop colleagues, building a high-performing, engaged, and customer-focused team
Skills & Experience Required
- Supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced, high-volume retail or customer-facing environment
- Proven leadership with the ability to:
- Develop and inspire teams
- Handle complex customer situations with strong communication
- Commercial awareness, including:
- Understanding of store operations
- Knowledge of performance drivers
- Attention to detail and commitment to premium retail standards in a flagship setting
Desirable Attributes
- Passion for the JD brand, retail trends, and delivering a standout flagship experience
- Experience in visual merchandising or premium product presentation
- Energetic, confident leader who excels in high-pressure, high-traffic environments
- Proactive problem solver with a focus on continuous improvement
- Ability to build strong working relationships and foster a positive, inclusive store culture
