Role Description

The Senior Florist is a part-time, on-site role based in Conisbrough, responsible for leading the design and production of bespoke floral arrangements. Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Designing and arranging flowers for occasions such as weddings, events, funerals
  • Preparing bouquets, installations, and decorative pieces
  • Guiding and supporting junior team members
  • Managing stock levels, conditioning flowers, and ensuring the store is organized, safe, and presentable
  • Interacting with clients in person and by phone, providing consultations, taking orders, and ensuring a high standard of customer service

Additional duties may include:

  • Assisting with deliveries
  • Setting up event florals on-site
  • Contributing ideas to enhance the company’s offerings

Qualifications

  • Strong floristry skills, including design, arrangement, bouquet-making, and working with a variety of flowers and foliage.
  • Experience in event and wedding floristry, with the ability to interpret client briefs and create cohesive floral themes.
  • Knowledge of flower care, conditioning, and stock management to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
  • Customer service skills, including clear communication, active listening, and a professional, welcoming manner with clients.
  • Organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple orders, meet deadlines, and work efficiently during busy periods.
  • Demonstrated experience in a florist or similar creative retail environment, ideally in a senior or lead position.
  • Comfort with on-site work, including occasional lifting, standing for extended periods, and setting up displays at venues.
  • Flexibility to work part-time hours, including some weekends and peak seasons, as required by business needs.
  • Social media engagement with frequent uploads.
