Flow Assurance Engineer Technip Energies – Genesis Energies£

Purpose of the Role

Reporting to the Flow Assurance Study Manager, this position will deliver flow assurance analysis and technical support across Genesis’s Aberdeen and London offices. You’ll integrate into the global flow assurance community, working both independently and in team settings to:

  • Conduct flow assurance studies (conceptual to operational support) for energy transition projects.
  • Lead OLGA-based simulations and validate results for client-driven optimisations.
  • Assist in marketing and business development for Genesis.
  • Communicate technical findings via reports, presentations, and client discussions.
  • Support global knowledge-sharing initiatives and design/process engineering collaboration.

Critical Requirements: ✔ Essential: OLGA proficiency + CO₂ flow assurance experience (due to rising energy transition demand). ✔ Thermodynamics & simulation expertise (e.g., Pipedsim, PIPENET).


Accountabilities & Responsibilities

As part of the Technical Services & Process Engineering team, you’ll ensure:

  • Design integrity—compliance with client/project regulations, standards, and safety codes.
  • Stakeholder communication—collaborate with managers, disciplines, and clients on timelines and deliverables.
  • Reader reports—prepare studies, presentations, and safety reviews as required.
  • Business engagement—participate in marketing, presentations, and internal coordination.
  • Adaptability & learning—share lessons across Genesis’s global expertise networks.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Level Senior Specialist + required:

✔ Academic:

  • Chemical/Petroleum Engineering degree (or related) + ENG chartered (CEng/PEng) equivalent. ✔ Specialisation:
    • 10+ years upstream oil/gas or energy transition experience.
    • Heavyweight OLGA & CNG utilisation in academic studies.
    • PREFERRED: CO₂-related experience; applicability to conceptual studies/d detailed design or operations support. ✔ Asset Skills (strengths):
    • Fluency in Multiflash/thermal modelling tools.
    • Knowledge of process design best practices.

Technical & Personal Competencies

Must demonstrate: Entrepreneurial skills + dirittiillance for operations. Readiacy with additional tools:

  • Leda-Flow, Maximus (pipe network flow info), FEA. Good report writing + business-mod élet discomfort. Engagement:
  • Team player skills in international context.
  • Approachable style to explain flow-assur anc concepts clearly.
