This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (Remote Build) based in United Kingdom.
About the Role
This specialist role sits at the intersection of engineering, customer delivery, and applied AI. In this capacity, you will:
- Directly partner with enterprise clients to solve complex operational challenges, turning them into reliable, production-grade systems.
- Design and implement integrations, automations, and AI-powered workflows that connect enterprise tools with modern platforms across the entire technology stack.
- Exercise strong end-to-end ownership of the entire system lifecycle, from discovery and architecture to deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
- Contribute to highly collaborative, fast-moving projects, translating real-world customer needs into scalable technical solutions.
- Build and maintain AI-enabled systems, including LLMs, agentic workflows, and evaluation frameworks, ensuring safe, efficient, and measurable outputs.
- Drive standardization by packaging field insights into reusable frameworks and engineering best practices.
- Operate in a remote-first, mission-driven environment focused on Applied AI at scale.
Accountabilities
Customer Collaboration
- Partner with customers to deeply understand business challenges, define clear success criteria and facilitate structured technical discovery.
- Translate ambiguous customer needs into structured “definition of done” outcomes.
Systems Engineering
- Design and implement end-to-end technical solutions, including:
- APIs, data pipelines, integrations and workflow automations.
- Cross-platform integrations that link customer systems with internal/third-party platforms.
- Own production deployments, delivering solutions with:
- High reliability, performance and observability.
- Proactive incident response readiness.
- Agile continuous improvement.

- Build AI-enabled systems using:

Measurable Outputs & Governance
- Create measurement frameworks, covering:
- Key Performance Indicators, test suites, regression safeguards, and evaluation test cases.
- Process-based guardrails for system adoption and deployment monitoring.
Cross-functional Alignment
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Success Teams, advocating for technical excellence:
- Continuously refining architecture.
- Improving reusable components.
- Scaling integrations from pilot to production-grade adoption.
- Translate field insights into scalable patterns, playbooks and product evolution, directly shaping platform capabilities.
Requirements
- 5+ years of shipping production-grade software, with full-stack or backend ownership including live environments, debugging, and on-call experience.
- Strong systems design and integration expertise, covering:
- APIs, webhooks, authentication (OAuth/service accounts), async/event-driven architectures, robust data modeling, and fault tolerance.
- Applied AI/LLM experience in production environments, encompassing:
- Advanced prompt engineering, retrieval augmentation (rag), fine-tuning strategies and evaluation methodologies.
- Balancing trade-offs between performance, accuracy, scalability and ethics.
- Ownership mentality, capable of navigating ambiguity to drive structured decomposition of problems and define clear pathways to technical implementation.
- Exceptional communication, bridging complex technical details across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Enterprise-grade experience as a bonus:
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks and security audits in high-constraint environments.
- Experience working with enterprise systems (HRIS, payroll, IAM, multi-tenant SaaS, or similar).
- Proficiency and adaptability across:
- Multiple programming languages and modern backend frameworks.
