Job Description: Senior Fraud Investigator and Data Analyst

End Date: Tuesday, 07 July 2026 Salary Range: £33,203 – £34,950 (note: Official salary range mismatch in raw text—£33,203 to £45,287 as per job title section) Location(s): Isle of Man, Jersey, or Guernsey Eligibility: Available only to colleagues residing in, or to those holding right-to-work permits for the specified locations


About the Role

This is a full-time, permanent role supporting flexible working (hybrid and job sharing options available).

  • Hybrid working: at least two days/week (40%) in the office
  • Disability support: Workplace adjustments aligned with Flexibility Works policy

Key Responsibilities

Investigation & Fraud Prevention

  • Investigate suspected fraud and economic crime, using system intelligence, data, and customer information to:
    • Identify risks and confirm suspicious activity
    • Support fair, customer-focused outcomes
  • Engage directly with impacted customers to:
    • Provide clear, empathetic support
    • Explain investigation outcomes sensitively and proportionately

Data & Analytics

  • Manage Fraud & Transaction Monitoring MI:
    • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and suitability for regulatory compliance, risk oversight, and senior insight
    • Ground Truth compliance reporting on:
      • Fraud platforms (e.g., GDW, EDH, PEGA, core fraud systems) -Future transition to Google Cloud Platform (GCP), enhancing data governance
  • Develop/maintain Power BI dashboards covering:
    • Fraud trends, loss/recovery metrics, rule performance, customer impact
  • Streamline processes via Power BI, SharePoint, and Power Automate to:
    • Reduce manual work, improve data controls, and elevate reporting quality
  • Analyse transaction rules and outputs to:
    • Evaluate effectiveness, spot emerging risks, and optimise tactics

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with Group Economic Crime, Fraud Operations, Risk, and Tech teams to:
    • Strengthen fraud strategy and customer protection
    • Enhance data-driven insights and controls
  • Contribute to root cause analysis post-fraud events, driving:
    • Control enhancements
    • Customer protections

Requirements

Skills & Experience

  • Critical investigative/analytical skills:
    • Interpret complex data for evidence-based decision-making
    • Collaborate with a customer-vulnerability focus
  • Fraud/regulatory acumen:
    • Hands-on experience or passion for fraud/customer case management
    • Good awareness of economic crime trends and emerging risks
  • Technical proficiency:
    • Strong working knowledge of Power BI (or eager to upskill)
    • Expertise with SharePoint, Power Automate, and data platforms (e.g., PEGA)
  • Communication:
    • Translate data insights/risk accurately for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Process mindset:
    • Analytical to spot improvements (manual/technical)
    • Confidence to challenge inefficiencies
