About the Role
The Senior Fraud Investigator and Data Analyst will deliver high-level technical business support to drive change initiatives, ensure regulatory compliance, and improve decision-making processes through fraud investigations and data analytics.
Responsibilities
Fraud Investigation & Economic Crime
- Investigate fraud and economic crime cases using system intelligence, customer data, and transactional insights.
- Identify risks, corroborate activity, and ensure fair, customer-centric outcomes.
- Engage with fraud victims to provide empathetic, transparent support on investigation outcomes.
Data Management & Reporting
- Own and maintain fraud and transaction monitoring Management Information (MI), ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance.
- Extract, manage, and analyse data from systems like GDW, EDH, PEGA, and fraud platforms for investigations & reporting.
- safelily leverage Google Cloud Platform (GCP) (future development opportunity).

Analytical & Reporting Tools

Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards reporting on:
- Fraud trends
- Loss and recovery metrics
- Rule performance
- Customer impact

Power Automate and SharePoint integration to:
- Streamline MI processes
- Improve data controls
- Enhance reporting quality

Assess Transaction Monitoring & Fraud rule effectiveness, proposing optimisations.
Strategic Improvement
- Conduct root cause analysis following fraud incidents.
- Contribute insights to control improvements, customer protections, and MI enhancements.
- Collaborate with Economic Crime, Fraud Operations, Risk, and Tech teams to shape fraud strategy.
Requirements
Technical & Analytical Skills
- Strong investigative and data interpretation expertise to form evidence-based conclusions.
- Hands-on experience with Power BI (or strong willingness to develop proficiency).
- Technical confidence with:
- Power BI
- SharePoint
- Power Automate
- Financial crime data ecosystems.
Specialist Experience
- Interest/familiarity with fraud investigations, economic crime, and customer protection frameworks.
- Knowledge of current and emerging fraud trends (e.g., scams, vulnerabilities).
- Experience producing/maintaining fraud/financial risk MI reports.
Soft Skills & Attitude
- Collaborative mindset focused on cross-team alignment.
- Ability to communicate complex insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Confidence to advance process automation, data-led solutions, and continuous improvement.
- Resilience or operating in fast-paced environments, managing competing priorities.
