About Modo Energy
The energy transition is the biggest infrastructure buildout in human history. Modo Energy is the data platform at the centre of it.
We build the benchmarking, forecasting, and valuation tools that the world's most serious energy investors, developers, and operators depend on to make decisions. If a battery gets financed, built, or traded anywhere in the world, there's a good chance Modo data was in the room.
Founded in 2019, we're 80+ people across London, New York, Sydney, and Madrid; $30M Series B, AI-native, and moving fast.
This is a rare chance to join a category-defining company at the moment it's scaling globally.
The Role
We seek a Frontend Engineer to help lead the architectural evolution of our UI. As part of a team, your main goal is to build a frontend architecture that supports rapid, AI-assisted development.
We are AI-native and our tech stack is TypeScript, React, and Next.js in a modern monorepo architecture, designed to support rapid feature development and AI-assisted engineering workflows.
We are looking for individuals who love product-building and want to work with pace at a mission-oriented start-up.
Responsibilities
- Architectural Strategy: help with the technical direction for our frontend monorepo to ensure long-term scalability.
- Component System Architecture: help design and develop our internal UI library (based on MUI).
- Performance Engineering: help build and improve high-performance, low-latency user interfaces.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
