Job Description:
What our team does
The Front Office IT Delivery team looks after the Traders and Analysts. We provide a wide range of solutions for both commercial decision support and more tradition ‘IT’ based activities. Generally, we build in a Microsoft stack working closely with the traders/analysts wherever possible. Work ranges from a couple of weeks to several months in length and we often find ourselves multitasking to fit in the more immediate demands.
The team encourages empowerment and accountability which sees us employ a flat organisational structure with an emphasis on getting the job done.
The Analytics & Decision Support area focuses on development and support for analytics systems, trading decision support tools, data pipelines and services.
Position purpose
Provide a testing service to support all projects enhancing the systems in the Front Office Analytics & Decision Support area of the business.
Play a role in helping to increase the level of test automation.
Main responsibilities
- Use, run, edit and where needed create automated scripts using appropriate technology (e.g. Playwright).
- Produce test plans covering functional, integration, regression and smoke testing scenarios.
- Take ownership of testing of new systems and enhancements including APIs and .NET Windows Services.
- Validate data using SQL and ClickHouse.
- Support system integration and user acceptance testing.
- Support release cycles and execute smoke testing.
- Be a driver of automation tests within the team.

Required Skills and Experience
- Prior experience of evaluating automation potential and understanding test automation frameworks.
- Full testing lifecycle experience including system, regression, integration and user acceptance testing.
- Experience working in Agile teams. Familiarity with C#/.NET and scripting.
- Strong SQL and data validation skills.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience with Windows Services.
- Exposure to ClickHouse.
- Experience in an energy trading or financial organisation.
Person Specification
- Must be a proactive self-starter and able to understand complex systems quickly.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly motivated with strong attention to detail.
- Able to prioritise effectively.
Hours of work:
8.30am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday, hybrid working
