About the Role
This senior, hands-on engineering role spans:
- A multi-app Next.js web monorepo
- A cross-platform React Native mobile client
Key focus areas:
- Delivering complex, end-to-end features across both platforms
- Contributing to architecture and design patterns alongside leadership
- Shaping tooling and AI workflows used by the wider team
- Strong product, design, and content collaboration
- Focus on technical ownership and pragmatic judgement
Ideal for experienced engineers who want real influence beyond ticket delivery and enjoy mentoring peers.
Key Responsibilities
Web & Mobile Development
- Deliver complex, end-to-end features spanning both Next.js web and React Native mobile
- Contribute to front-end architecture, including:
- Module boundaries
- Multi-app dependency graph in an Nx monorepo
- Overall shared code patterns

- Own third-party integrations end to-end, including:
- SDKs
- Secrets
- Configuration
- Typed wrappers
- Controlled rollouts
CI/CD & Process
- Drive CI/CD improvements:
- Affected-based pipelines
- Mobile release channels
- Review code across web and mobile, improving:
- Quality
- Performance
- Accessibility
Team Collaboration
- Mentor mid and junior developers via:
- Pairing
- Code reviews
- Work closely with QA, Product, and Platform teams to meet sprint goals
Incident Response
- Support incident triage, hotfixes, rollbacks, and post-mortems
AI & Tooling Innovation
- Build and share AI tooling, including:
- Custom agents
- Claude Integration (e.g., MCP servers)
Requirements
Essential
- Recent production experience with:
- React and Next.js
- Strong TypeScript skills, with an emphasis on:
- Writing clean, maintainable code
- Knowledge of:
- TanStack Query
- Lightweight client stores (e.g., Zustand)
- Experience with:
- TailwindCSS for styling
- Component composition
- React Native production experience shipping on:
- Expo/EAS toolchain
- Confidence in:
- File-based routing
- Responsive theming
- Animation/gesture libraries
- Experience with:
- OIDC authentication
- Platform-specific session handling
- Deployment experience with:
- Push notifications (FCM/APNs)

Desirable / Nice to Have
- Experience with Nx or comparable monorepo tools (e.g., Turborepo, pnpm workspaces)
- Headless CMS background, preferably Contentful
- Fluency in:
- Claude Code workflows
- Claude Agent SDK
- Building MCP servers or custom agents
