Company

Purple is a London-based legaltech company focused on giving legal teams tools they actually want to use. Founded by ex-lawyers and experienced legaltech leaders, Purple partners with law firms and in-house legal departments to turn real-world ideas into practical technology. The team specialises in building smarter workflows, agent-powered document analysis, custom dashboards, and other bespoke solutions that fit how legal professionals work. Purple values clear communication, collaboration, and simple, effective products over jargon and complexity. Joining Purple means contributing to technology that directly improves the day-to-day work of legal teams.

What is it?

We’re building an AI-enabled platform for a regulated domain at the intersection of legal and financial services. We are looking for a senior generalist to own its frontend. This is a highly dynamic environment — requirements shift, specs are often incomplete, and you’ll be expected to make sound calls on your own.

What you’ll build

The frontend is a focused, single-portal app centered on a rich workspace. There is real complexity in places (domain-heavy NgRx state, custom diagramming, and visualization), but it is lighter than the data-heavy model on the backend. The biggest greenfield work is ahead. We are integrating agentic AI features: streaming AI responses, rendering dynamic UI generated from model output, and wiring agentic workflows into a clean Angular foundation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Our stack is Angular (standalone components, strict TypeScript, NgRx + RxJS, Angular Material, and signal-based reactivity) with strict linting and API-client codegen — but this is a starting point, not dogma. The heaviest data complexity lives on the backend; on the frontend, your job is to make the AI-driven experience feel fast, predictable, and easy to reason about. You’ll have real room to shape the architecture as these capabilities land.

Location

We work in a hybrid model. Two days a week are spent in our office in West London at x+why Arding & Hobbs. We prefer candidates who can join us in the office on those days. However, we will consider exceptional candidates for fully remote work, provided they are based in the UK/EU and within a 3-hour time difference.

Your role

  • Ship product features end-to-end, partnering on UI/UX and product tradeoffs — deciding what to build now and what can wait.
  • Evolve the codebase so it stays extensible, rather than patched up until it needs a rewrite. You’ll decide on structure, abstractions, and where the boundaries go.
  • Write code that is straightforward and easy to reason about and maintain — we favor simple over clever. High code standards are non-negotiable.
  • Help us stand up and maintain automated end-to-end tests.
  • Code with AI agents as your daily driver (e.g., Claude Code) — this is a must, not a nice-to-have. You should be fluent at steering, reviewing, and verifying agent-produced work.

Who we’re looking for

  • Senior Angular/TypeScript experience, with a deep understanding of reactivity, state management, and change detection.
  • A generalist mindset — comfortable spanning UI, state, tooling, testing, and build pipelines.
  • Comfort with ambiguity: the ability to take a half-formed idea, ask the right questions, and make defensible tradeoff decisions.
  • Strong opinions on code quality and maintainability, held loosely enough to align with the team.
  • Experience with API codegen and strict lint/format pipelines — you appreciate automation that removes drudgery and enforces standards.

Interview process

Problem-solving followed by a live agentic coding session — you’ll pair with our AI tooling to build a small feature and talk through your decisions as you go. Be ready to explain your tradeoffs out loud.
