The team You’ll join the E-commerce Engineering team, responsible for everything customers experience on ledger.com. This team owns the full customer journey - from discovery to checkout - working across a modern stack (Next.js, Shopify, Contentful, Vercel) to deliver high-performing, conversion-focused experiences at scale. We work in a fast-paced, product-driven environment, shipping frequently and optimising continuously for performance, SEO, and conversion. What you’ll be doing As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering the web experience used by millions of customers worldwide. This is a hands-on role with strong ownership: you’ll lead complex projects end-to-end, contribute to technical direction, and elevate the team through high standards and mentorship. You won’t just build features - you’ll help define what’s worth building and how to deliver it effectively : Own delivery end-to-end Lead development of high-impact features from ideation to production Make pragmatic trade-offs to balance speed, quality, and scalability Ship frequently and iterate based on real user data Drive technical excellence Write clean, maintainable, and performant code (TypeScript, React, Next.js) Improve architecture, scalability, and reliability of the platform Maintain a high bar for testing, monitoring, and code quality Shape solutions, not just code Collaborate with Product, Design, and Marketing to define the right problems Contribute to technical decisions with a strong product and business mindset Focus on outcomes like conversion, performance, and user experience Elevate the team Mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing, and feedback Share knowledge and promote best practices across the team Help drive a culture of ownership, pragmatism, and continuous improvement Collaborate across functions Work closely with stakeholders to plan, estimate, and deliver work Communicate clearly on progress, risks, and trade-offs Contribute to a strong, transparent engineering culture What we're looking for Strong experience building production applications with JavaScript/TypeScript and React Experience with Next.js or modern SSR frameworks Proven ability to own and deliver projects end-to-end Comfortable leveraging AI-assisted development tools (e.g. code generation, debugging, documentation, and exploration) to improve productivity, while applying strong engineering judgment to validate outputs and maintain high quality standards Strong product mindset - focused on user impact and business outcomes Experience in A/B testing and data-driven optimisation Solid understanding of performance, SEO, and web best practices Pragmatic approach to engineering—knowing when to optimise vs ship Mentoring mindset with strong communication skills At Ledger, we are dedicated to continually investing in our employees which is why we offer more than just salaries; we provide comprehensive compensation packages that include a wide range of benefits.
