About the Role
Airtask Group, working together with CarteNav, two aligned companies within the PAL Group, are looking for a full-time Senior Software Developer with strong experience in Angular and Spring Boot to help design and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance web applications.
This is a hands-on full-stack role where you’ll also play a key part in production support (Tier 3)— resolving complex issues and helping improve system reliability. You’ll work with modern technologies including Docker and Kubernetes, contributing to both development and architecture.
Role based within a central UK location, offering a flexible hybrid working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain full-stack web applications using Angular and Spring Boot
- Develop and integrate secure, high-performance REST APIs
- Work with Docker and Kubernetes to support scalable, containerized environments
- Apply reactive programming principles (RxJS / Project Reactor)
- Contribute to system architecture, performance, and scalability improvements
- Act as a Tier 3 escalation point, diagnosing and resolving complex production issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, QA, Product) to deliver end-to-end solutions
- Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and technical documentation

Essential Skills and Attributes
- 5–10 years of experience in software development (full-stack preferred)
- Strong experience with:
- Angular (TypeScript)
- Spring Boot (Java)
- Docker
- Solid understanding of Kubernetes concepts
- Experience designing and building secure APIs (OAuth2 / OIDC)
- Experience with reactive or data-driven programming
- Strong understanding of scalable system design and performance optimisation
- Experience troubleshooting complex production issues
- Familiarity with DevOps practices (logging, monitoring, alerting)
- Proficiency with Git and modern development workflows
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Desirable but Not Essential
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Knowledge of geo-spatial data / PostGIS
- Experience with real-time systems (e.g., streaming or chat)
- Understanding of advanced OIDC flows
