About the job
This role is being recruited for by Vecta, on behalf of one of our partner companies.
Full Stack Developer
- Location: Northampton, UK (Hybrid - must be within commutable distance)
- Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
- Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 + Uncapped Annual Bonus (typically 5% - 15%)
The Opportunity
Our client is a privately owned, high-growth UK finance group that has funded over £1.5 billion for 20,000+ SMEs. Having more than doubled in size in recent years, the business is investing heavily in custom software, automation, and AI, and is looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer to lead that build.
This is a hands-on role with real ownership. You'll build full-stack applications end-to-end - React frontends, Python and Node.js backends, deployed on AWS (Lambda, Amplify, Cognito, Athena, S3, Redshift) and Zoho Catalyst. Your code goes live, gets used across the business daily, and directly supports hundreds of millions of pounds in lending.
What You’ll Do
- Build, deploy, and maintain full-stack web applications, internal platforms, and business tools.
- Design and run cloud-native solutions across AWS and Zoho Catalyst, including secure authentication with Cognito.
- Build reliable API integrations between Zoho CRM, AWS applications, lender platforms, and third-party services.
- Work with the ML and data teams to embed predictive models and automation into live workflows.
- Champion modern engineering practice: testing, CI/CD, code review, documentation, and secure deployment.
- Use AI-assisted development tools (Codex or similar) to move faster, while keeping strong engineering judgement.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
