UK Remote | £60,000–£65,000
If you're tired of spending your days maintaining legacy systems and want to build modern cloud-native platforms that genuinely challenge you, this could be exactly what you're looking for.
This is a chance to join a growing engineering team where you'll have real influence. Your ideas won't disappear into endless approval processes—you'll help shape architecture, contribute to technical decisions and build scalable solutions that power multiple eCommerce brands across the UK and Europe.
If you enjoy solving backend problems, designing APIs and working with AWS, while still understanding how the whole application fits together, you'll feel right at home.
What you'll get
- Work on modern technologies, not outdated legacy platforms.
- Be trusted to influence technical decisions and engineering standards.
- Join a senior, collaborative team that genuinely values clean code and good engineering.
- Work remotely with the flexibility to manage your own day.
- Build products used by customers across multiple international brands, so your work has real impact.
- Be part of large-scale platform migrations and greenfield development where you'll continue learning every day.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What you'll be doing
You'll spend most of your time building scalable backend services using TypeScript, Node.js and AWS.
Alongside developing new features, you'll design APIs, improve platform performance, contribute to cloud infrastructure and help standardise shared modules used across multiple applications.
Although this is a Full Stack role, it's heavily backend focused. Around 70% of your work will sit within backend engineering, with the remaining time spent on server-side application logic rather than traditional frontend development.
We'd love to hear from you if you have experience with:

Experience with Terraform, infrastructure as code or modern eCommerce platforms would be a bonus but isn't essential.
