Senior Full Stack Engineer (Hybrid – Contract to 30/12/2026)
Location: Hybrid (3 days per week onsite in Pilsworth, Bury) Rate: £750 p/d (Umbbrella inside IR35)
About the Role
We are supporting a leading global footwear retailer in establishing dedicated Marketplace and Conversion Optimisation squads, accelerating digital commerce improvements ahead of peak seasons.
We are seeking an exceptional Senior/Principal Full Stack Engineer—a technically deep thinker who combines strong software craftsmanship with product-focused engineering. This is a hands-on leadership role, where you’ll design, build, and ship production-grade software while embedding modern engineering practices and empowering your team.
This is not a traditional senior developer role. We’re looking for engineers who think beyond tickets, solve customer outcomes, and help create high-performing engineering squads.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver Customer Outcomes
- Design, build, and deploy scalable, secure, cloud-native applications for Marketplace and Conversion domains.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Data Analysts, and QA to translate customer problems into tech-driven solutions.
- Own end-to-end features, from discovery through production delivery.
- Drive commercial outcomes by improving conversion, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
Lead Through Hands-On Engineering
- Prototype, architect, and implement production-ready solutions in every sprint.
- Technical mentorship—pair programme with engineers to solve complex challenges.
- Drive pragmatic engineering decisions balancing speed, quality, and maintainability.
- Lead full-cycle technical delivery, from design to deployment.
Embed Engineering Excellence
- Champion software craftsmanship and clean code.
- Strengthen engineering standards through peer reviews and collaboration.
- Promote modular, reusable components and maintainable solutions.
- Integrate automated testing, security by design, and CI/CD momentum into delivery.
Accelerate Engineering Delivery
- Optimise CI/CD pipelines, tooling, and automation to reduce friction.
- Improve release quality, deployment confidence, and predictability.
- Build reusable engineering assets, templates, and patterns for future teams.
- Enhance developer experience through simplicity and efficiency.
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
