Senior Full Stack Kotlin Developer

6-Month Contract | Inside IR35 | Leeds, Manchester or London (2x per month)

Are you a talented Senior Full Stack Kotlin Developer looking to work on large-scale digital services that make a real impact?

We're seeking an experienced developer to join a high-performing agile team delivering modern, user-centred solutions for complex public and private sector organisations. You'll play a key role in designing, building and deploying scalable applications, collaborating with product, design, data and delivery specialists to solve challenging business problems.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Designing and developing secure, scalable digital solutions using Kotlin and Java.
  • Building and enhancing microservices and RESTful APIs using Spring Boot.
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver user-focused outcomes.
  • Owning and improving CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based deployments.
  • Mentoring developers and promoting engineering best practices across the team.
  • Engaging with stakeholders to communicate technical solutions and project progress.

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial experience with Kotlin, JVM technologies and Java.
  • Experience delivering full software development lifecycle projects.
  • Exposure to Node.js, TypeScript, Express.js or Nunjucks.
  • Strong background building scalable backend services using Spring Boot and the wider Spring ecosystem.
  • Experience designing and developing microservices and RESTful APIs.
  • Hands-on cloud experience across AWS, Azure or GCP.
  • Strong DevOps knowledge including Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices.
  • Knowledge of build and deployment tools such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps.

Desirable

  • Previous consultancy experience.
  • Experience delivering projects within Government or NHS environments.
  • Knowledge of Kafka or other event-driven messaging technologies.
  • Experience using Helm for Kubernetes deployments.

Contract Details

  • ๐Ÿ“ Leeds, Manchester or London (approximately 2 days per month onsite)
  • ๐Ÿ“… Initial 6-month contract
  • ๐Ÿ’ผ Inside IR35
  • ๐Ÿ”’ BPSS clearance eligibility required
