About the Role
As a Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE and Power Platform Functional Consultant, you will bridge the gap between IT capability and business expectations on Microsoft Dynamics projects.
You will collaborate closely with clients to design and build solutions based on Dynamics 365 CE and Power Platform, including the use of AI features, to deliver tangible benefits for them and their customers.
Your role will involve:
- Translating business requirements into effective solutions.
- Playing a key role in design and delivery, ensuring projects meet business needs by:
- Identifying opportunities to leverage expanding platform features.
- Balancing the benefits and risks of customisation.
- Recommending the best approach to support client needs.
- Assisting with discovery workshops, functional designs, configuration, testing, data migration, training, and implementation.
You may also be asked to lead or manage functional consultants on small-to-moderate and complex projects. This includes:
- Setting project priorities, assigning tasks, and optimising team resources.
- Building cross-functional relationships with technical and client teams.
- Ensuring smooth management of project dependencies.

Responsibilities (Key Areas of Focus)
Solution Design & Implementation
- Implement Dynamics 365 CE and Power Platform solutions across medium-to-large, high-complexity projects.
- Perform entire project lifecycle roles, including:
- Requirements analysis and elicitation.
- Design, configuration, and testing.
- User training and data migration.
- Cutover, monitoring, and reporting.
- Champion a configuration-first approach, avoiding unnecessary customisation to reduce risks and costs.
- Explain out-of-the-box functionalities effectively to stakeholders.
- Design and execute workflows (classic and Power Automate) for moderate-to-high process automation.
Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership
- Engage with multi-level stakeholders to identify pain points and gather requirements.
- Use techniques like interviews, shadowing, discovery workshops, and process mapping.
- Establish influencing skills, working sensitively with challenging stakeholders.
- Potentially lead functional teams or manage small projects.
Requirements
Minimum (Essential) Requirements
Technical Expertise
- Deep expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE and Power Platform, covering at least two of the following:
- Sales
- Customer Service
- Customer Insights
- Field Service
- Power Apps
- Power Automate
- Power Pages
- Copilot Studio
- Power BI
- Knowledge of AI features within Dynamics CE and Power Platform, and how they benefit business users and customers.

Experience & Skillset
- Clear understanding of related Microsoft products (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams) and their integrations with Dynamics 365 CE and Power Platform.
- End-to-end implementation experience in multiple projects (medium to high complexity), covering:
- Requirements gathering.
- Technical and functional design.
- Configuration, testing, data migration.
- Training and cutover phases.
- Ability to design solutions with minimal customisation and demonstrate their effectiveness.
- Experience building workflows (manual to fully-automated, including complex logic).
Soft Skills & Collaboration
- Superior stakeholder engagement skills, eliciting, reviewing, and prioritising requirements effectively.
- Ability to develop rapport across disciplines and when working remotely.
- Willingness to lead junior colleagues as a mentor.
Desirable Qualities
- Ability to convert business requirements into clear user stories with acceptance criteria.
- Proactive mindset—ready to research independently, share expertise, and mitigate risk.
- Collaborative nature, confident in offering support to peers while knowing when to ask for help.
