As a Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE and Power Platform Functional Consultant, you will bridge the gap between IT capability and business expectations on Microsoft Dynamics projects. You will collaborate with clients to design and build solutions based on Dynamics 365 CE and Power Platform, including the use of AI features, to deliver benefits for them and their customers.
Key Responsibilities
You will work closely with key stakeholders to:
- Understand business requirements and translate them into effective Dynamics 365 solutions.
- Play a key role in the design and delivery of Dynamics 365 CE and Power Platform solutions to ensure they meet business needs by:
- Identifying opportunities to make best use of platform features.
- Balancing benefits and risks of customisation.
- Recommending the best approach to support client needs.
- Leading or supporting discovery workshops, creating functional designs, configuring solutions, supporting testing, assisting with data migration, delivering training, and supporting implementation.
You may lead or guide functional consultants on small to moderate-sized and complex projects. Responsibilities include:
- Identifying priorities and assigning tasks to optimise the use of resources and skill levels within the team.
- Building relationships with counterparts in other disciplines—both in the Kainos team and the client team—to effectively manage inter-project dependencies.

Requirements
Minimum (Essential) Requirements
Technical Proficiency
- Expertise in Microsoft Dynamics & Power Platform Products:
- In-depth knowledge of at least 2 of the following:
- Sales
- Customer Service
- Customer Insights
- Field Service
- Power Apps
- Power Automate
- Power Pages
- Copilot Studio
- Power BI
- In-depth knowledge of at least 2 of the following:
- AI Features:
- Understanding of AI features in Dynamics 365 CE and Power Platform to deliver business benefits.
- Familiarity with Related Technologies:
- Knowledge of integrating related Microsoft tools (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams) with Dynamics 365 CE and Power Platform.
- End-to-End Implementation Experience:
- Proven experience in medium to high-complexity projects, including:
- Requirements analysis
- Design, configuration, and testing
- Training
- Data migration
- Cutover and reporting
- Proven experience in medium to high-complexity projects, including:
- Solution Design Influence:
- Ability to create and advocate for configuration-first solutions, minimising unnecessary customisation for lower risk and maintenance costs.
- Ability to demonstrate out-of-the-box (OOTB) functionality to stakeholders.
- Workflow Design:
- Proficiency in designing and implementing Classic Workflows and Power Automate to automate medium-complexity tasks.

Stakeholder Engagement
- Experience working with stakeholders at all levels, including:
- Gathering and prioritising requirements via interviews, shadowing, workshops, and business process mapping.
- Strong influencing and communication skills, especially when addressing challenging stakeholders.
Additional Desirable Skills
- Ability to teach others how to convert business requirements into user stories with acceptance criteria.
- Self-initiative and problem-solving, prioritizing own research before seeking support.
- Collaborative mentality, willing to share knowledge and seek help when necessary.
- Familiarity with DevOps:
- managing Epics, Features, User Stories, and Tasks.
- proposing how DevOps aligns with sprint-based progress.
- Workload and Stress Management:
- Capacity to recognise overload and seek guidance for workload balancing.
- Open to feedback to ensure a positive working environment (especially for remote/client-facing roles).
- Commitment to agreed standards of behaviour, delivery speed, and quality.
