Senior Product Domain Architect – Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) (SAP S/4HANA Transformation) Location: Flexible with 40% Travel
About the Role
Weir’s global SAP S/4HANA transformation is a once-in-a-generation programme, establishing core business platforms to power the company for the next decade. As a Senior Product Domain Architect (Product Lifecycle Management), this critical role requires deep expertise in Innovation and Product Lifecycle Management, spanning Siemens Teamcenter, SAP S/4HANA Engineering, BOM, and Material Master capabilities.
Partnering closely with the Product Domain Lead, the architect:
- Drives scoping and delivery of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) capabilities, including Product and Portfolio Lifecycle Management
- Ensures cross-domain, end-to-end architecture alignment with Enterprise Architecture
- Steps into full domain leadership when required
This is a high-calibre transformation expert position—designed to accelerate PLM maturity across people, processes, and technology, directly enabling strategic outcomes and programme success.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Partnership
- Drive PLM transformation in partnership with the Product Domain Lead, leveraging SAP Fit-to-Standard and Clean Core principles to unlock maximum value across PLM capabilities.
- Act as a deputy to the Product Domain Lead, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.
End-to-End Capability & Value Stream Ownership
- Own and govern the entire PLM capability, including Concept to Launch value streams.
- Ensure seamless cross-domain alignment and value-driven delivery through collaboration with other Domain Architects.
Architecture, Solution Design & Governance
- Lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of PLM and SAP S/4HANA-related solutions, translating business needs into scalable, enterprise-aligned architecture.
- Govern the PLM domain roadmap, architectural artefacts, standards, risks, and decisions, while maintaining full alignment with Enterprise Architecture.

Cross-Domain Collaboration, Data, Integration & Innovation
- Work across architecture teams to ensure integrated, coherent solutions.
- Guide solution architects in defining data and integration strategies, upholding robust data governance.
- Drive modern cloud adoption, emerging technologies, and PLM-focused innovation.
- Collaborate with the Enterprise Architecture team on cohesion, integration consistency, and overall technology strategy.

Job Knowledge, Education & Qualifications
Core Expertise
- PLM Proficiency: Deep knowledge designing and optimising end-to-end Product Lifecycle Management, Product Portfolio Management, and Product Stabilisation processes, with expertise in regulatory frameworks, industry standards, and innovation-led product development.
- SAP S/4HANA PLM & Siemens Teamcenter: Extensive experience in Technical (Material BOM), Engineering BOM (EBOM), and Manufacturing BOM (MBOM) processes within SAP S/4HANA.
- CAD & Simulation: Experience with CATIA/NX, Autodesk Inventor, and computational engineering tools—ensuring seamless PLM integration.
- PLM Integration: Strong understanding of PLM-to-CAD, ERP (SAP) integration, and best-in-class strategies for data-driven workflows.
Agile & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Proven agile project management experience using Jira, Confluence, and other ATLASSIAN tools.
- Ability to facilitate seamless collaboration across marketing, engineering, manufacturing, logistics, BCP (Business Continuity Planning), and project management teams.
- Sharp facilitation and presentation skills—efficiently influencing senior stakeholders to drive transformational outcomes.

- Hands-on experience architecting enterprise-wide PLM transformations within large-scale SAP S/4HANA implementations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead ambiguity in solutions delivery, pushing for data-driven, scalable solutions that align with enterprise-wide objectives.
- Success driving quality enhancement, data governance, and change management for domain capabilities.
