Humanoid - Senior Functional Safety Engineer

Here at Humanoid, we believe in a future where robots amplify human potential. That’s why we’ve set out on a mission to build the world’s most capable, commercially-scalable, and safe humanoid robots. We’re bringing that mission to life with HMND-01 Alpha - our rapidly developed humanoid platform now running in real industrial pilots - and we’re growing the team to take it even further.

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Functional Safety Engineer to join our Systems Engineering team. This is a senior-level position that provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge safety-related systems for our industrial and home robots. You will be working closely with the Functional Safety Lead to support safety lifecycle activities and will be leading the development of safety-critical subsystems.

This is a high-impact role for an experienced engineer with a proven record of delivering and certifying safety-related systems, preferably in the robotics domain. A strong understanding of functional safety fundamentals & industry standards, capacity for detailed work on complex systems, and innovative thinking are essential qualities to be successful in this role.

What You'll Do

  • Lead or support activities across the complete safety lifecycle, starting from initial concept all the way to validation and certification.
  • Lead or support the development of novel safety assurance arguments, for individual subsystems as well as the overall products.
  • Contribute to safety concept definition and support detailed technical development of safety-critical systems.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to define, communicate, and validate safety-critical requirements for sensors, controllers, actuators including hardware and software.
  • Perform safety analyses like FMEA, FMEDA, FTA etc.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation to support the safety case, such as risk assessments, functional safety concept, safety requirement specifications (SRS), verification & validation plans and test reports.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and international standards.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
