Senior Fund Accountant

Job Summary:

The role involves the provision of fund accounting and administration support to investment trusts and other corporate entities. This is a full-time position within a small team and there will be a large element of client contact/interaction. The individual performing this role will report and be accountable to the Fund Accounting Manager. The individual performing the role must be able to prepare and review management accounts and the financial aspects of Statutory Accounts under minimal supervision as well as the day-to-day oversight/management of Fund Administrators both in local and global jurisdictions. Reasonable study support for relevant professional qualifications will be provided.

Job Accountabilities:

Preparation and/or review of Annual and Half yearly financial/other reports as may be required by clients Preparation and review of periodic management accounts to ensure accuracy and timely delivery to clients Net asset value preparation and review of outsourced activities to ensure accuracy and publication in accordance to set deadlines Preparation and/or review of schedules such as expenses, income (including special dividend treatments), cash, security holdings etc reconciliation Liaising with auditors and resolution of audit queries Liaising with clients and other service providers as required to ensure a high-quality delivery of service to clients Processing and record keeping of clients’ invoices and other payments Preparation and/or review of periodic regulatory reporting including but not limited to AIC, VAT, ONS and Compliance returns etc Assist with initiation/implementation of departmental/company-wide projects Establishment and maintenance of due diligence and KYC records Providing support to the company secretarial team with financial and other information for Board papers Oversight and review of tasks completed in global service centres Other administrative and financial reporting duties as required

Minimum Expected Experience/ Education:

Graduate and/or finalist/newly qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ICAEW or equivalent) 3-5 years fund accounting experience preferably in listed investment companies

Special Skills Required:

Self-starter with ability to work on own initiative Understanding of the accounting and administration of listed funds and other corporate entities Knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP/FRS 102 & 104 relevant to investments trusts and AIC SORP Good knowledge and working experience using Microsoft Office softwares Good organisational skills Good verbal and written communication skills
