The Opportunity
We're looking for a Senior Game Economy & Monetisation Designer to help design, optimise, and scale the in-game economy and monetisation systems for a live mobile game. You'll work closely with Product, Design, Analytics, and LiveOps teams to create engaging player experiences while driving long-term player value and sustainable revenue growth.
The ideal candidate has experience designing economies for free-to-play mobile games, a strong understanding of sports-related gaming markets, and is comfortable using data to inform decisions, including market intelligence tools such as Sensor Tower or equivalent platforms.
Responsibilities
- Design, balance, and maintain the game's virtual economy, including currencies, progression, rewards, sinks, and sources.
- Develop and optimise monetisation features, including in-app purchases, offers, bundles, battle passes, subscriptions, and limited-time events.
- Create pricing strategies and promotional calendars that maximise player engagement and lifetime value.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Game Designers, and LiveOps to deliver monetisation initiatives aligned with business goals.
- Analyse feature performance and player behaviour using quantitative data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct competitive analysis using Sensor Tower or equivalent market intelligence platforms to benchmark monetisation strategies, pricing, live events, and market trends.
- Monitor key performance indicators such as ARPDAU, ARPPU, conversion rate, retention, engagement, and LTV, translating insights into actionable recommendations.
- Support A/B testing initiatives by defining hypotheses, measuring results, and iterating based on data.
- Balance player satisfaction with commercial performance by creating fair, engaging, and sustainable monetisation systems.
- Stay current on industry trends, particularly in sports and sports-management mobile games.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
