About AMPG

Ann-Marie Powell Gardens Limited is an award-winning landscape design studio based in Petersfield, Hampshire, on the edge of the South Downs National Park. Led by Ann-Marie Powell FSGLD, the studio has spent nearly three decades delivering bespoke projects across private residential gardens, luxury hotel and spa landscapes, historic and listed estates, commercial spaces, show gardens, and international commissions.

No two projects are the same, and no two weeks look alike. Known for our philosophy—Bold, Vibrant, Biodiverse—we believe in design that is not only creative but purposeful. Our ethos revolves around these core principles:

  • Plants
  • People
  • Place
  • Purpose

Promoting accessibility to good garden design, our studio balances bespoke full-service commissions with smaller-scale projects designed for budgets of all sizes.

Awards & Recognition

Our credentials are extensive, reflecting both critical acclaim and public favour:

  • RHS Chelsea Flower Show:
    • Gold medals (2010, 2015), Silver-Gilt (2024)
  • BBC People’s Choice Award + inaugural RHS Children’s Choice Award (2024)

  • Gaze Burvill Director General’s Award (2021)
  • House & Garden Top 50 (five consecutive years; ranking Top 25 in 2026*); Spear’s Index Top Recommended status

Ann-Marie Powell FSGLD is a Fellow of the Society of Garden Designers, and the studio is a Registered Practice with them.

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Garden Designer / Landscape Architect to join the studio as a key creative and project-leading member of the team. This role goes beyond support—it demands ownership from inception through delivery, with direct client interaction and genuine creative responsibility. Work will involve collaboration with Ann-Marie and the team while embedding into our workplace culture as much as our design standards.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
